Pineview Reservoir is located in the mountains eight miles east of Ogden, UT.
Recreation at Pineview Reservoir is provided by several agencies: US Forest Service, Utah Recreation Company, Weber County Sheriff and Utah Department of Natural Resources. The managed season is generally early May though mid-September.
Visitors enjoy fishing, boating, water skiing, wakeboarding, hiking and mountain biking. You will find soft sandy beaches as well as paved boat launch ramps.
Equipment is available to rent from outfitters in the nearby area, where you can rent boats, Jet-Skis, paddleboards, kayaks and canoes, as well as mountain bikes and cruisers.
Pineview has a fishery which contains black crappie, largemouth bass, yellow perch, small mouth bass, tiger muskellunge (tiger muskie), bluegill, bullhead catfish, green sunfish and common carp. Fishing occurs nearly everywhere at the reservoir. Most popular are the shallow areas on the south-east and north-east sides. Be sure to check the Utah state fishing regulations for size and quantity limits.
At the west end of the reservoir (near the dam) is an area marked off for all use by a floating barrier. Next to that barrier is a boatless area designed for swimming.
Check out Windsurfer Beach and Spring Creek for stand-up paddleboarding.
